MIDE 2010 Logo Woo Hoo! The Malaysian International Dive Expo is at the end of this month, July 30 – Aug 1 2010 at the PWTC in KL. I have attended this expo once…Exciting! It is like the PC Fair, only this time it is about anything and everything about Scuba Diving. It is also the time for meet & greet community-like feeling. The last time I was there, I've subscribed to the Asian Diver magazine and was qualified for the lucky draw at the end of the expo. Damn! If I knew I was going to be so lucky, I would have stayed back to claim the prize…which was an expensive watch. Kanasai! I didn't stay back, oh well, hopefully this year, my lucky star will shine brightly too.

The last trip, I bought myself a tray and arm for my underwater photography. This trip I'm going to check out the strobes! Inon D2000 or Sea & Sea YS-110α(Black). I am leaning towards the Sea & Sea YS-110A strobe which you see here.

Frustrated…

Trying to free my aifontriji from jail has been a very frustrating affair. My aifon is still in jail no matter what I tried, except the last resort from my previous post. That is because I have yet to finish downloading the virtual image of OSX. As for the other methods, when I am using redsn0w, it seems to be stuck in the iBoot mode (as seen in the Device Manager) and not getting anywhere. It is as if the bootloader or something is not being read and executed on the device. *sigh* :(   Hmmm…there’s one more thing which I have not tried yet – to use a different computer for redsn0w…

Releasing Keith’s Aifon from Jail

Using redsn0w 0.9.5b5-3

  1. Downgrade to 3.1.3
  2. Upgrade to iOS4 by launching iTunes, hold the Shift key down and click the 'Restore' button.
  3. Select the downloaded IPSW firmware file (iPhone1,2_4.0_8A293_Restore.ipsw)
  4. Click on the 'Choose' button to let iTunes update your iPhone with the required firmware.
  5. Once it has completed, run redsn0w 0.9.5b5-3
  6. Follow step 8 from this guide
  7. It is stuck at "Waiting for reboot" endlessly. Argggggh!

JB Result: Jailed

Tried this fix … Result: I am still getting Error 1604 … JB Result: No extra time, stay in Jail

Using Virtualized MacOSX and PwnageTool
It is late! OMG! Look at the time! I will need to try another day since there's a lot of files to download. There's also the need to install and setup. :(

Kali Kedua @ JB’ing iOS4

Arrgggh! I cannot resist a second attempt at JB’ing my iOS4 aifontriji. My last attempt using redsn0w was a failure, and I dunno why? :(

Anyways,  I have been trolling searching the Internet for information, and here’s what I’m planning to do…

The MAC Way

  1. Since I don’t have a MAC, I can try virtualization and run MacOSX on my pc. How am I going to do this? Mahmood will show the way.
  2. Then, use the latest PwnageTool by iPhone Dev Team

The PC Way

I could download custom-made iOS4 ipsw and use sn0wbreeze, since the latest version 1.6.2 is confirmed working for Spirit JB users and also fixes that damn iTunes Error 2 issue, including YouTube & iBooks problems.

If that fails, more trolling…err…research required!

Initially I could not because I didn't configure you properly to accept remote blogging from a mobile device. Now I can (^_^)

I am also trying out the geotagging feature with this post. How does this work I wonder…

WordPress Version 2.5 for iOS4

This is so cool! There’s an iPhone app available to help me manage my WordPress powered blog. It is called WordPress in the App Store under the category: Social Networking. HA!

I have installed it via iTunes on my PC. Oops! I forgot that I am currently draining my aifontriji’s battery. Oh well, I will have to wait until tomorrow to take this app for a spin. Wait for my test post from my aifontriji tomorrow!

WordPress 3.0

I have finally gotten WordPress 3.0 to play nice with my web host…or is it the other way around. Hahaha! The installation part is easy, but configuration…I didn't realize how tricky it is to make them both work together.

I did some basic configuration like changing the theme from the very basic default theme to the latest new default theme called Twenty Ten, which I have done some easy basic customization like changing the header graphic and also inserted some widgets which you can see on the left of this page.

Anyways, it is sandbox time! … I hope I won't cause too much damage to my WP installation.
